PROJECT EXPERIENCE
PROJECT NAME: CMAQ INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENTS This project consisted of
upgrading three existing intersections of Arapaho
Road, Beltline Road, Campbell Road and Coit Road
in the cities of Dallas and Richardson. Zablon
Mmbifwa was project manager responsible for the
preparation of the preliminary and final paving
and drainage construction plans, specifications
and estimates.
PROJECT NAME: SINGLETON BOULEVARD
PAVING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS.
This
project consisted of upgrading an existing two
mile, three-lane roadway with a continuous left
turn lane to either a five-lane roadway with a
continuous left turn lane or a six-lane divided
thoroughfare. Mr. Zablon Mmbifwa was Project
Manager responsible for the overall preparation of
ROW documents, Utility Relocations, Plans,
Specifications, and Estimates for Singleton
Boulevard Paving and Drainage Improvements.
project consists of upgrading an existing two
mile, three-lane roadway with a continuous left
turn lane to a five-lane roadway with a continuous
left turn lane. Prepared the pre-final Paving and
Drainage plans for this project including off site
parking lot layouts, driveway and intersecting
street profiles, drainage design, specifications
and estimates. Other project elements include
public hearings, and meetings with both property
and business owners along the corridor.
PROJECT NAME: OLD MILL LANE/COURT
PAVING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
Zablon Mmbifwa, prepared construction
plans for the reconstruction of Old Mill Lane from
Fostoria to Nachita and Old Mill Court from Old
Mill Lane to the Cul-de Sac (about 2,040 L.F.) for
the City of Dallas. The project tasks included
survey, engineering design and preparation of
construction cost estimates.
PROJECT
NAME: CITY OF DALLAS, OLD MILL LANE/ OLD MILL
COURT IMPROVEMENTS.
Project Engineer
responsible for overall plan preparation for the
reconstruction of Old Mill Lane/Old Mill Court
(approximately 2,040 L.F.) for the City of Dallas.
Project tasks included topographic surveys,
Preliminary studies, paving and drainage, Typical
sections, Earthwork, quantity calculations, and
cost estimates.
PROJECT NAME: DENTON
HOUSING AUTHORITY, DENTON, TEXAS.
Prepared paving, drainage and erosion
control plans, site grading, design of water and
wastewater service mains to commercial buildings
for a 5-acre development. Utility coordination.
PROJECT NAME: CITY OF THE COLONY,
TEXAS. Project manager responsible for the
preparation of PS&E documents for a major
thoroughfare (Paige Road) The project is approx.
5,500 L.F. and tasks included paving and drainage,
water and sanitary sewer utility reconstruction,
traffic control and signs, traffic signals,
quantities and estimates.
PROJECT NAME: GENERAL ENGINEERING
CONSULTANTS - NORTHEAST LINE
Mr.
Mmbifwa was the Design Engineer responsible for
the design of parking facilities on a 7.5-acre
tract for the 3.9 mile Light Rail Transit System
Line Section G-1 at White Rock Station. Tasks
included site engineering including site grading,
parking layout design, evaluation of alternatives,
deceleration lane design, roadway and drainage
design, Utility coordination, Earthwork
computations, Specifications and Construction Cost
Estimates, and retaining wall Layout design.
Evaluated design alternatives on a 5.5-acre tract
and prepared parking layouts for the Forest Lane
/Jupiter Road Station.

PASSENGER TRANSFER LOCATIONS
Mr.
Mmbifwa was the Project Manager responsible for
overall performance of the project team consisting
of Architectural, MEP, Structural, Landscape
Architecture, Geotechnical, and Civil disciplines.
Responsible for the design of access roads, site
grading, drainage, water and wastewater mains,
utility coordination, and on-site parking
facilities for Bernal/Singleton and Cockrell Hill
Passenger Transfer Locations (PTL'S).
PROJECT NAME: GENERAL ENGINEERING
CONSULTANTS - SOUTHEAST LINE
ZJM
Engineers, Inc. was responsible for the civil
design of five line stations on the 3.97 mile
Light Rail Transit System Line Section SE-1. The
stations include Deep Ellum Station, Baylor
Station, Fair Park Station, Martin Luther King
Station, and Hatcher Station. Tasks included site
engineering including site grading, station
layout, drainage design at stations, Utility
coordination and design for stations, street
widening for bus bays and kiss & ride areas,
coordination with project Architects, structural
designers, and other relevant disciplines,
retaining and sound wall layouts.
